The Society of University Neurosurgeons (SUN) originated in 1965, with incorporation in Tennessee on May 12, 1970. The founding members, pioneer neurosurgeons all, envisioned an academic travel club for university academicians. We recently had our 44rd meeting in Spain with over 60 neurosurgeons attending.

The Society of University Neurosurgeons (SUN) is an academic travel club for university neurosurgeons. The society hosts an annual meeting of program directors, chairmen, and academic leaders in the field of Neurological Surgery to highlight clinical and scientific endeavors in the neuroscience community. Each conference takes place in conjunction with a medical university and features academic discussion, scientific presentations, and scholarly lectures.
